Many people today argue the facts of whether this is up for debate or not. There is not a single piece of history that determines whether or not same sex marriage is right or wrong. There is absolutely no legal, logical, or governing reason that same sex couples cannot be wed and it's extremely unconstitutional in every way to tell them they can't. Same sex marriage should be legal for a number of reasons, a few being, it's no one else's business if two men or two women want to get married, not allowing them to marry makes them seem inferior, and it rids them of their civil rights. Another argument that can be made is children benefits.

Some religious researchers believe that children thrive best in a home with a married mother and father, rather than two of the same sex. This is based on the fact that boys and girls have different needs can bet met uniquely by both genders. Many arguments are caused due to the topic when it is brought up in a conversation. This topic has become such as issue that the government has had to step in and create laws. Gay marriage is known to break apart families but is also known to bring families together. Everyone is entitled to an opinion but at what cost? Now it is time for politicians and the law to catch up with society.

Since the 90s the community of homosexuals has stood up and raised their voices about the possibility of legalizing gay marriages. It all started with a lawsuit in Hawaii that made the issue of same sex marriages a major debate in the nation. The nation in which we live and which we protect was built centuries ago on one main premise: freedom. Freedom is a concept that all Americans, young and old, hold dearest to their hearts. The question at hand, therefore, is not one of whether or not homosexuality should be allowed — this is an undeniable freedom. The matter with which we are faced includes the consequences of legalizing gay marriage, which include a deconstructed family structure, setting an excessively open precedent, and establishing an unfair situation for heterosexual marriages, among other problems.

Undoubtedly, the extraordinarily negative repercussions of legalizing and proliferating gay marriage make it a step that is not worth taking. And it is, in fact, entirely possible to prevent these catastrophic ramifications, while still preserving civil rights and freedom. The views by some against same-sex marriage are that there are equal rights but the people choose to have less. First, gay and lesbians already possess rights equally protected under the law. They have the exact rights that heterosexuals have today. They can marry a member of the opposite sex if they so choose. Straight men and women can't marry a member of their own sex, even if they wanted to.

So, the rights are shared. Also, in some states it is illegal to participate in sodomy which is vastly practiced in the gay community so by allowing them to marry it is encouraging the ignorance of the law. Another argument shared widely is that homosexuals cannot be legally married because they cannot produce a child. HOME ESSAYS Gay Marriage Rights Persuasive Essay. Top-Rated Free Essay. The topic that I would like to talk about is on a controversal subject on gay marriage. Many people know alot or very little about same sex people getting married. In the United States same sex marriages are legal except in American Samon. Same sex marriages we're not legal until June 26th in the year of Many people would argue that these same sex marraiges would be going against other jurisdictions and violate equal protection with the United States Constitution.

Same sex mariages were founded in the late 20th century. Same sex marraiges are a big problem in political, social and religious beliefs. These People called DOMA Defense of Marriage Act,were trying to keep the sacred marrige only between one woman and one man. That changed as well with the desicion of a few other lower courts and other legistrations. Same sex marriages has helped the eceonomy grow. As America seemingly turns to the left, albeit by judicial fiat, the Right will have its revenge in via the legitimate voice of the people, the ballot box. This is where real change happens. Gay marriage is a heated issue that pulls in various responses from those supporting and those restricting the tight clamp. The problem concerning whether lesbian and gay weddings draws in warmed open deliberation. In the societal setting, certain people consider that homosexuality is sinful while gay promoters consider that putting into thought the sexual inclinations of each individual is fundamental. Gay promoters believe that lesbians and gay people must have the same social equality, including wedding anyone, one wishes. This section presents two sides of opinions concerning pros and cons of gay matrimony. The issue of gay marriage has been a long-standing issue that has plagued our society worldwide.

With the same fire as ethnic equality issues brought during the civil rights movement, gay marriage has brought similar attitudes our of current generations. Opponents of gay marriage claim that it would destroy the foundation and meaning of traditional marriage and family and that it would lead to polygamy and a growth in sexually transmitted disease. I believe that gay marriage is a right that should be afforded to all individuals, as it would help the local and state governments, change traditional family values for the better, and for the mere fact that it is a right protected and often overlooked by the constitution.

Despite U. same-sex couples have the freedom to marry in 37 states yet still facing prejudiced public gaze. Same-sex marriage might be an issue against to our belief but when we get rid of our prejudice it could be nothing different than heterosexual marriage. Also because same sex marriage the couple might not love each other for ever and then they might get a divorce. Gay marriages are currently illegal in the Unites States. The prohibition of gay marriages is wrong because it is a prominent form of discrimination. Not only are homosexuals denied of their civil rights, they are also denied of economic and legal benefits.

No government should be able to legally prohibit someone from showing their love for another person, it simply does not uphold the basic principles of the constitution. Another argument put forth by opponents of gay marriage is that marriage is a tradition, and as a tradition, we must look to the past for its definition. Same-sex marriage opponents affirm that historically, marriage has always been between one woman and one man, and therefore, same-sex marriage cannot be allowed. Marriage has always been a hot topic from interracial marriage to the current day controversy of homosexual marriage. Marriage has traditionally been defined as a union between a man and woman, but today this is not true. In recent weeks, homosexual marriage has been a contentious topic, with a Supreme Court case and many Americans rallying around this cause.

Conservatives believe that homosexual marriage should be banned but currently nine states have legalized homosexual marriage. The conformist revolution is gaining momentum with protests and as mentioned prior, a Supreme Court case. Legalizing gay marriage will cause social, economic and psychological benefits to unfold on a state and national level. Many people argue that the institution of marriage is anticipated to union one man and one woman and that the definition of marriage makes same sex marriage inappropriate. Also the opponents of gay marriage argue that if gay marriage is legalized, it may harm the traditional marriage.

It has never been confirmed to have any cruel effects on heterosexual marriage as the opponents argue; as a result it should be lawful and the same rights and privileges that heterosexual couples enjoy must be extended to the homosexual community. A current debate surrounding sexual orientation would include something such as the gay rights and if it is choice or nature. This debate has gone on for many, many years and still continues today. This includes scientific research being done and others opinions on the subject. Many people today argue the facts of whether this is up for debate or not. There is not a single piece of history that determines whether or not same sex marriage is right or wrong.

Studies show that children raised by same sex couples are well adjusted and happy. Kids need good role models and loving parents. Gender is a factor in neither of those needs. Same sex marriages are neither wrong, nor threats to society. There is no threat from which we need to protect traditional marriage, because it has changed in the past.

Homosexuality is a completely natural phenomenon. Children are not affected negatively due to being raised by two parents of the same gender. Think about the constitution: it says that ALL people are created equal, no matter what race, gender, or age. Why should sexual orientation be any different? People are still people, no matter their sexual orientation, and should be entitled to the same rights as everyone else, no matter what. You May Also Find These Documents Helpful. There are many factors that influence success in learning.

Education is important. Learning is important. There are three main learning styles: visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. And each person tends to have a preferred learning style. Some people may even use a combination of all three learning styles. Visual learners prefer to learn by seeing information. This could mean reading texts or watching videos. Auditory learners prefer to learn by hearing information. This could mean listening to lectures or taking part in conversations. Kinesthetic learners prefer to learn by doing things. This could mean participating in hands-on activities or simulations. It might be difficult to learn for some. Most people learn using a combination of all three methods, but everyone has a preference for one particular style.

This model identifies four main types of learners:. They often benefit from listening to lectures or recordings, or engaging in discussions. They often take extensive notes and like to have information in a written format. They often benefit from activities, experiments, or other forms of active learning. In fact, many people learn best when they combine all three methods. However, by understanding your preferred learning style, you can tailor your education to fit your needs and maximize your learning potential. Some people may not be aware of their learning style category, and there are online surveys that can reveal their learning style strengths.

This basically implies that I am a good listener and hands-on learner. The survey also offered me with some educational options to help me improve my knowledge. I now know that I should avoid long lectures, try to study in short spurts and take time for breaks, make use of post-it notes, and highlight key points. I also should focus on the main ideas and make connections to better understand the material. Take notes and record are my first methods of studying in class. In class, I frequently write down anything of key interest to the lectures. Take notes might help me improve my listening and writing abilities since I have to type and listen at the same time.

Because we wrote it down, it will take longer for us to memorize it since we remembered it once and then read it again when we studied it. I also use study groups as a method to study. It is more beneficial when it comes to studying for exams or understanding assignments. In a study group, we would discuss the concepts and try to explain it to each other in our own words. This helped me understand the material better since I had to explain it in simpler terms. It also helped me catch up on anything I missed in class.

Study groups are a great way to improve your communication skills and socialize with others who are in your classes. My last method of studying is by myself at home or in the library. I usually read over my notes and try to memorize them as best as I can. I also like to make flashcards to help me remember key terms or definitions. This method is more beneficial for me when I have to memorize a lot of information for exams. It is also good for when I want to focus on one particular subject. I think that each learning style has its own benefits and drawbacks. It is important to find the right mix of methods that work best for you.

Personally, I like to use a combination of all three methods depending on the situation. The fact that you may listen to them at any time, even while sleeping, is another feature I appreciate about them. There are different ways of learning and people have their own preferences on how they want to learn new information. Some people learn better by listening to audio recordings, others prefer reading texts, and others prefer seeing visuals. This is what is known as learning styles. Different learning styles require different approaches in order for the information to be effectively absorbed. For example, someone who prefers visual learning might benefit from using things like flashcards or diagrams when trying to memorize new information.

Someone who prefers auditory learning might find it helpful to listen to audio recordings or have someone read aloud to them. And someone who prefers kinesthetic learning might find it helpful to physically write out information or act out scenarios. The most important thing is to experiment with different approaches and find what works best for you. And I just gave you some pointers in my own words to assist you. You may develop your own style to make studying easier and more enjoyable by adapting what you want to learn to your learning style. Romeo and Juliet has always been considered as an epic of love, and the only reason for this is the magnificence of their love. Unfortunately, it lasted only for a small epoch. However, their love story is considered as a tragedy as they die, leaving their love story incomplete. This was simply because of their impulsiveness. They followed their hearts and disregarded rational thoughts. It is often seen that age and youth do not go hand in hand. As people grow, old and experienced, they know what life is all about and make wiser decisions. On contrary, youngsters behave in a very different manner.

They are very reckless and very impulsive while making their decisions. Their responses can be predicted and they are quite bound to make misjudgments. Our writers can help you with any type of essay. For any subject Get your price How it works. This is also displayed in the story of Romeo and Juliet. All the youngsters in the story are very impulsive and reactive; the only exception is Benvolio. He is calm and sensible and behaves in a proactive manner. He is one of those people who does not allow his emotions rule over his reasons. He is a peace loving person and avoids disputes with the Capulets which Tybalt and Mercutio love having. These two cannot withstand the very presence of any member or relative of the other family. This gives us a good idea of the hatred the two households bear against each other.

This hatred for each of the other family is what compels these youngsters to make instant decisions. The depth of this feud is so intense, that no one remembers the true cause of the fights. They just quarrel because of their names. The other youngsters are Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet. Their spontaneity is seen in almost every moment of the play. For instance, they fall in love at the very first sight; they decide to get married soon after they meet for the very first time; they decide to commit suicide without thinking even for a blink of a second. Romeo is a young chap whose actions can be easily predicted. He is passionate, spontaneous, and reasonable in most of his actions.

He is first shown lovesick for Rosaline, but then falls in love again; love at first sight. On the other hand, Juliet is a little girl, just 14 years old, but she appears to be more mature than Romeo is. On the other hand is the wise and old Friar Lawrence, who has experienced life more than anybody else in the play has. He also helps them with a plan when Romeo is banished from Verona. None of these are able to understand the bond of love that Romeo and Juliet share. The parents never realize the love of the two lovebirds. The nurse is however aware of their affair, she too is never able to appreciate it. She does not take this as seriously as Juliet or her Romeo do.

None of these are able to understand the course of love of Romeo and Juliet. The parents never recognize the love of the two lovebirds. The nurse is however aware of their affair, but she too is never able to appreciate it. For her, it is just a matter of ridicule. Throughout the play, William Shakespeare has tried to criticize the differences in the ways of thinking, attitude, behavior, and the relationship between the aged and the youth. Through this, Shakespeare tries to point out some of the major differences, and also what Juliet feels of her Nurse. In my opinion, Shakespeare has shown such dissimilarities in a manner that words cannot express.

He has transformed a tragic love story into an epic of love. The magnificence of Romeo and Juliet speak for themselves and I believe that everyone who reads this play will have a flurry of emotions going through himher. This Fahrenheit analysis takes a look at its author, characters, themes, quotes, and movie adaptation. Ray Douglas Bradbury was born in Waukegan, Illinois, on August 22, His parents, Esther Bradbury and Leonard Spaulding Bradbury gave Ray his middle name in honor of the actor Douglas Fairbanks. This influence can be seen in his works, where he highlights major themes of censorship, the importance of books, and accepting the history that can no longer be changed. Ray Bradbury has loved reading since he was a young man. He often visited the library and read the works of Jules Verne, Edgar Alan Poe, and H. Bradbury continued to hone his skills, and they paid off nearly two decades later. Some of the greatest Ray Bradbury books include Fahrenheit , Dandelion Wine, and The Illustrated Man.

His first collection of short sci-fi stories dubbed The Martian Chronicles was released in To this day, Fahrenheit remains one of his most well-known works. In the mids, he was a host and writer for The Ray Bradbury Theater. This was an anthology series that ran on HBO and the First Choice Superchannel in Canada. Bradbury personally wrote for all 65 episodes. They were based on his own short stories and novels. Ray Bradbury Fahrenheit continues to fascinate readers with its timeless themes of freedom, censorship, dystopian society, and wilful ignorance years after its release. Fahrenheit analysis closely centers around the main character torn between his professional loyalties and growing discontent with the status quo.

The book is a condemnation of censorship and the persecution of people. The story sets in the future, where the American public has become an empty shell. In this timeline, firemen start fires instead of putting them out. Fahrenheit follows one of the operatives named Guy Montag. He goes on a personal journey from enjoying the book burnings to doubting his actions and wanting nothing to do with them. The majority of his peers have become disconnected from reality. They are constantly bombarded by sounds and sights produced by the media. This is so persistent that people have no time to think and process what is being transmitted.

Montag realizes that he has to desperately try to save what knowledge remains in unburned books. The story is a chilling tale with a dash of hope for the future. Even without the happy ending, Bradbury gives hope that society may still be rebuilt. Give yourself a break and turn to our top writers. The main conflict of Ray Bradbury Fahrenheit stems from the fact that society has become completely dependent on mass media. Free thought is forbidden, and literature is destroyed on-site. The overindulgence in technology distracts the population from an impending threat. Guy Montag finds himself to be one of the few people to escape its destructive nature. There are several symbols that appear heavily throughout the story. The first is fire. Fire is heavily used to describe knowledge, rebirth, and destruction.

The element is mostly used as a force of devastation throughout the novel. Another prominent symbol is that of the salamander. This animal is used as a symbol for firemen in Fahrenheit Firetrucks are called the Salamander in the novel. Ray Bradbury also uses seashell radio prominently in the story. This is a small radio device that symbolizes the control the media and government have over society. Almost everybody wears them to get a constant flow of information into their mind. Mirrors are another important part of the novel. They are used to represent seeing your true self and self-awareness.

This indicates that Montag notices a part of himself in her. Fahrenheit analysis reveals several motifs in the novel. Religion appears a lot in Fahrenheit The first book Montag saves from burning ends up being a copy of the Bible. He later discusses the lack of religion and its significance with professor Faber. Guy desperately seeks someone who can explain the content of the book as he feels unable to understand it. Paradoxes are another important part of Fahrenheit Bradbury has several paradoxical statements in the novel. Primarily they consider the Mechanical Hound and Mildred. For example, Guy believes the room with his wife to be empty at the beginning of the story. This emptiness stems from her being mentally lost in the sea of information. Ray Bradbury uses nature as a counterpart to technology.

Nature also highlights the destructive tendencies of society. For example, modern society made animals symbols of death and darkness. During his conversations with Clarisse, they often referred to nature. Montag even thinks of her to be a part of nature when he first meets her. You can leave us a notice ' i need help writing an essay ' and we'll get it done for you asap. So, why was Fahrenheit banned several times? It is the only one of Ray Bradbury's books that suffered that much. This was motivated by a desire to censor its graphic content. Ironically, a story about censorship and government overreach has itself been a subject of these things. The novel follows one of the professional book incinerators named Guy Montag.

In the beginning, he seems content with his work. But his attitude toward happiness and work soon starts to change. First, he starts to have daily conversations with his neighbor Clarisse McClellan. She asks him many serious questions instead of spewing pleasantries. The second is when Montag steals his first book from an old woman's house during one of the raids. His firemen force was ordered to destroy the house of an old book hoarder. Instead of leaving the building, the old woman refuses to live in this society, and she sets herself on fire. Ather these events, Montag questions his beliefs and himself more and more. Montag decides to steal and save more books from incineration. Montag makes an effort and tries to introduce his wife to reading, but she sees no point in it.

Montag later contacts a retired literature professor Faber to learn more about books. Montag is given a phone device to offer him guidance. Guy does as told, but captain Beatty finds the earpiece and threatens to kill Fabian. This situation forces Montag to kill the chief. He then goes fleeing from the city while being chased by terrifying mechanical killer dogs. Montag escapes and joins a community of former intellectuals. They are aware of the coming war and plan to hide until it ends. Fahrenheit book ends with the total destruction of the city. Much like the phoenix rising from its ashes after death, humanity can learn from its mistakes and rebuild anew. In , the novel got its second movie adaptation. It takes place after a second civil war.

Much like in the original, in the Fahrenheit movie, society is kept obedient by drugs and TV news. Everything is being controlled by the government. Television sets are placed in every home and street to keep the population under control. Montag and Captain Beatty are other firemen in Cleveland. Their job is to hunt down book-collecting rebels. So, Montag burns any books he finds to erase the memory of such individuals. Captain Beatty seems to play both sides. In the Fahrenheit movie, the central government discovers that rebels want to record every book in existence into DNA. This DNA will later spread around the world, thus ensuring that books never disappear.

He succeeds but at the cost of his own life. In the Fahrenheit movie, Guy sacrifices himself for the sake of knowledge. Perhaps you need help with math?
